Art in Motion is currently on Maternity leave until after Thanksgiving. Lilah Elizabeth was born on Thursday, October 20th (Her big brother's birthday!). She weighed 5 lbs 7.5 oz and was 18 inches long. She was born at 35 weeks 6 days gestation, so was a little premature and had a tiny issue with breathing the first day of her life and is in the NICU. She is doing wonderful now and hope we get to go home within the next week. At this time, we are not taking on any sessions until after Thanksgiving. We still are proofing out and doing orders at this time. We are behind a little, but hopefully will be catching up as soon as we get home. Please email me if you have any questions/concerns. I have my laptop here in the hospital and check my email as much as I can. Thank you !

Art in Motion is temporarily closed due to Kristen having to be on bedrest with pre-term labor until our daughter is born. We will be getting orders and proofing out as soon as possible. Thanks for all of you sending your thoughts and prayers. We have also moved during this time to an acreage outside of Brookings. We will have a new number and will be working on a new website once baby is here. Right now, If you need to get ahold of us, please do through our email! Thank you for your patience and understanding. We will keep everyone updated on the situation.

That's right... the flu (influenza) has hit our household (my poor baby boy), so things are falling a bit behind. The summer is ending… but the fall is beginning!!

I love summer, but I LOVE fall. Fall is my favorite time of year, especially when it comes to photography. The humidity is low, the temps are cooler, and it's harvest season.. which means the lighting is awesome outside!!! Now, down to the posting of a bunch of pictures! Heather and Tom (just married)

Heather and Tom's wedding has got to be up at the top for my all-time favorites. I had so much fun working with them and everyone involved in the wedding. The wedding took place at the same church Heather's mother and grandmother both got married and the reception was out at Heather's parents farm. It truly was an amazing day with lots of love and tons of laughter!! Thank you Heather and Tom for letting us be part of your day! There were so many great pics......I couldn't narrow it down to just a few but here are some of my favorites!!

As you may know... My husband and I moved here from Iowa a couple summers ago... and you may guess from the title, we are cyclone fans! Andy went to college there, as well as my best friend from growing up and her husband (who have a little guy 2 months older than our little guy!!) . I could spend hours photographing this little man! He is such a happy little guy. I love his smile, but love his innocent look just as much! I photographed his mommy when he was in her belly as well as his 3 month pics and now he is already 6 months old. Time flies by way too fast! I met his mommy and daddy when they were expecting and I was also expecting. Since then we have become friends and we love to get our little guys together as much as we can. We have fun plans for the summer.. including the pool and walks.... only if this weather ever decides to get nice :) Here are some pics from the earlier sessions!

5 months old!!

It is definitely time to update this blog!! The last month has been crazy. Where does time go? I can hardly believe my little guy turned 3 months the other day. It seems like yesterday I was preparing for his arrival. Many of you know that I just love photographing babies and he is no exception! I keep on telling my husband, with all the times I run him down to the studio because of his little faces he is making or if he as a cute outfit on or whatever it might be.. he will either love being in front of the camera or absolutely hate it by the time he is 2. Welcome to my blog!

I would like to thank everyone for welcoming my husband and I here to Brookings this last year. Since Opening the studio back in June, I have had the pleasure to meet and work with so many wonderful people. I am very excited to see what 2009 will bring!
